Here we are again. But since she is complaining about the food she must be feeling a little better. She didn't eat the lunch today, she had Syd get her a salad from the cafeteria.
They installed a PICC line in Geri's arm this morning without any problems. The wound guru came and inspected, removed the packing, flushed the cavity, repacked with something new (silver something), requested an ENT or general surgeon come to enlarge the opening to better clean out and re-pack the cavity.
Later, the same day. Well, the ENT guy and his sidekick have just been. He didn't think the opening needed enlarging but he did go in with his tweezers and swabs to remove more necrotic tissue then flushed and repacked the cavity. This was done without any anesthetic and was pretty uncomfortable so Geri has just called room service for more pain killers. The "flush and pack" will have to be done daily for 'some time' - hospitalspeak for the 12th of never.

Hi, you two. Geri, I'm following your progress and set-backs, and cannot believe the loops and hoops you have to jump thru' just to get your health back. In this case, you have to be extra strong - Bob too - hope you can go home soon and dive into some Kraft mac n cheese! You're a fighter, Geri, and you'll win this battle with your body. Keep the faith! Hugs, imo
