Another day, another issue.
Geri is resting comfortably, or at least reasonably comfortably. She has a continuous Heperin drip and two antibiotic drips, one every 12 hours and the other every 6 hours. They are going to put a PICC line in tomorrow to make it easier to do the IVs, especially after she comes home. Today she has seen the chemo oncology Dr., the infectious diseases Dr., and the internist. The latter requested a consult by the "wound" guru to look at the port site, which is still open because of the packing and still looks bad. They should come tomorrow and they have seniority over the department that has been taking care of the port site so far. Hopefully we can finally get this issue resolved once and for all. The port has been an problem one way or another ever since the first round of chemo when they found a blood clot there. More at 11.
